Sea Level Rise Maps for shores along Albemarle and Pamlico Sounds

!

Most of these maps are drawn from an EPA study, which developed county-scale elevation maps to illustrate vulnerability to sea level rise, using existing data. The maps show elevations relative to spring high water, the average tide during new and full moons. The full-state and half-state maps are based entirely on lidar data provided by the State of North Carolina. The county maps are older, so we have also included an index map showing the data sources, which can help you figure out how accurate our maps are for a particular location.

These maps are in jpg files designed for printing at 300 dots per inch on 8-1/2 X 11 inch paper. If you simply click on the links below and try to read them on your computer screen, some of them may look strange, depending on your internet browser. If so, please save the jpg map onto your computer's hard drive and then open the file with the program you normally use to read jpg files.
