Estimates of the Area of Dry Land Close to Sea Level in South Carolina

The table below provides point estimates of the area of dry land below particular elevations, in square kilometers. The estimates are based on the USGS national elevation data set. The accuracy of these estimates varies. In most of the state, the elevation is likely to be accurate to within about 50-100 cm; but the accuracy is poorer in the northeastern part of the state.
